Update 1.1


Update 1.1 is out!

It's been almost 3 weeks since the GMTK 2022 jam finished, and I've been busy fixing up this game!

Main updates:

  • Major Balancing!
    • Buffs and debuffs, roll prices, enemy health and speed, everything has been balanced!


  • Revamped spawning system!
    • Difficulty now increases gradually, rather than suddenly increasing when you hit score checkpoints. There is now also a limit to the amount of enemies that can be on screen at once - this increases as your score increases. The game should now be much easier in the early stages.


  • New Buffs + Debuffs!
    • Golden Bullets - Enemies have a 10% chance to drop 2x coins
    • Light headed - You randomly get a limited circle of vision for 8 seconds
    • Nano Dice - All enemies are 50% smaller

Gameplay changes:

  • You can now press space to roll instead of clicking so you can continue shooting
  • Added a highscore
  • Five Dice now move towards you in a snake pattern
  • Tracking Tech buff changed from 'activates homing' to '+10% homing radius' and can be obtained 3 times
  • Bullets start 20% slower than before
  • Coins move towards you faster
  • Coins now stack into 10 coins and 50 coins to avoid lag when an enemy drops a large amount of coins
  • Coins dropped by the Extra Coin buff are now affected by the Gold Galor buff

UI changes:

  • Added a volume slider and particles toggle
  • Added camera shake when the player gets hit
  • Added dice death particles
  • Lowered post-processing
  • Added an FPS counter
  • Your score is now displayed on the death screen
  • Roll button now turns rainbow when you have enough money to roll
  • Armored Dice have a new different sprite to regular dice
  • Hearts flash gold when you get fortified (get hit but don't lose a life due to the Fortified buff)
  • Buffs and debuffs now stack on the Buffs screen

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed UI breaking if you rolled and then pressed the Show Buffs button
  • Fixed bug where the pause button would disappear if you tried to roll with insufficient money
  • Fortified buff is now calculated correctly
  • The player no longer moves when the game is paused


Thanks to everyone who played and rated the game, it was a really fun experience to create this game in just 48 hours!
